"Thunder Cares" is Memphis Thunder Racing's charitable and volunteer side of the club. Our team feels it is important not only to be active through multi-sport, but also to give back to the community.
Racing for a Cause - 2010
In 2010, we will be raising money for the Double “B” Boys Ranch in Millington as part of our annual "Racing for a Cause" fund raiser. The ranch is on 224 acres and is designed as a safe-haven for at risk boys and is operated by Tennessee Baptist Children's Homes. This Christian based organization gives the boys a second chance.
We are asking all Thunder members to raise money for this year’s charity based around participation in Memphis in May. However, you do not have to race in Memphis in May to help our cause. Please ask your friends, family members, Sunday school members, and co-workers etc, to sponsor you in the upcoming race.
You can request sponsor donations by mail or email using this Donation Pledge Form.
Donations can be made by CHECK or CREDIT CARD. Checks can be made payable to "Memphis Thunder Racing - Donations". All donations are tax deductible and a donation receipt Donation Receipt Form is also available on the website.
Our team goal this year will be to raise $3000. Please keep a log of your gifts and donors and remember that no donation is too small.
The top 3 fundraisers will receive a prize for their efforts:
1st Place -- $50 gift certificate to Bike World
2nd Place --$30 gift certificate to Swanky’s Taco Shop
3rd Place --$20 gift certificate to Bike World
**The Thunder cares committee has set a qualifying amount of $100.00 for prize consideration.**
We have approximately 140 current Thunder members. If we can get at least 100 members to raise $50.00, we will blow past this year’s goal.
Thank you in advance for all your efforts and support of Thunder Cares.
If you have questions, please contact Tom Bramlage or Scott Blackburn from the Thunder Cares committee.

Other 2010 Thunder Cares Activities
Already this year, Thunder Cares has collected shoes at the annual meeting in January and donated them to a charity organization out of Nashville called Soles4Soles. These shoes are going to Haiti to help those who have been impacted by the earthquake.
Also, on President's Day, the musical kids of several Thunder members performed a recital at the Page Robbins Adult Day Care Center. Read more about this event here.
THANKS to everyone who has helped get our "Caring" off to a great start in 2010.
